The project was originally planned to be undertaken during 2 weekend road closures, however, Gibson’s took on the challenge and successfully completed all main carriageway works in one weekend.
A total of 1,100 tonnes of 50/14 base course Asphalt was laid on the Saturday followed by resetting 70 pieces of Iron Work and laying a further 740 tonnes of Hot Rolled Asphalt on the Sunday together with associated white lines and cat’s eyes.
The A21 Road was officially reopened at 5.30pm on Sunday evening.
The successful completion of this work in one weekend will relieve inconvenience to local businesses, road users and the general public, as a second weekend closure will now not be required.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our workforce that have made this great weekends work possible. Well done to all involved.
